YOUR SECURITY

Ethics
Our ethical conduct is governed by the Law Society of England and Wales, which has exceptionally strict rules of conduct and compliance compared to most countries. If English lawyers do not comply with the rules and regulations governing their conduct they may be struck off thus denying them their livelihood.

Indemity Insurance
Whilst we pride ourselves in our accuracy, we carry very substantial professional indemnity insurance, for your peace of mind. If, unthinkable as it is, anything did go wrong, we are fully insured, accountable under English Law, whatever country we are dealing with, in English Courts. Whilst some overseas lawyers voluntarily carry professional indemnity insurance, many don't, potentially leaving you liable to loss.

Keeping Your Money Safe
In England, lawyers have to keep client money safe in a separate bank account from their own, ensuring that their client's money is always secure. This rule may not apply in some countries meaning that your money is only as safe as the lawyer is solvent. Why put your money at risk?

Fixed Fees and Costs
We quote our fees and costs before you make any commitment. This means no nasty shocks and allows you to budget for the total cost of purchasing your new home.

Guarantee
We guarantee that, if we act for you and recommend completion, title to the property is good, marketable and free from encumberances.

TAXATION

We deal with all aspects of UK foreign and international taxation both personal and corporate and will advise on appropriate double taxation treaties.

We will also advise on the uses and benefits of an investment via offshore companies and trusts and arrange their establishment and ongoing administration where appropriate.

We will arrange overseas property and business acquisition, ownership and/or disposal in the most tax efficient manner and complete all necessary UK and overseas tax returns and clearance applications.

WILLS & INHERITANCE

We will advise on foreign inheritance laws and prepare and arrange execution of appropriate foreign wills relating to overseas assets.

In the event of demise we will arrange probate to the overseas estate administration and transmission to successors.

ONGOING ASSISTANCE

We are always on hand to advise and assist overseas purchasers and owners with any subsequent problems they may encounter and with any matters affecting their foreign ownership or business.

We are subject to Law Society rules and the strict code of ethics these impose which, inter alia, means that all client moneys must be held in a separate account backed by the Law Society's Indemnity Fund and that we must maintain comprehensive indemnity insurance guaranteeing prompt compensation in sterling in the event of error on our part
